The Columbine Club is Timnath's historical society. Organized by Helen White Rigden and Alta Lewis Bush, this women's club first met in the Timnath home of Mrs. Tom Black in September 1907. The club was originally a study group that met to discuss such timely topics as gardening, homemaking, children, fine arts, patriotism, and education. Meetings were held the first and third Thursdays of the month and dues were fifty cents.
In 1908, the Club became affiliated with the Colorado Federation of Women's Clubs and the General Federation of Women's Clubs.
The club flower was the Columbine and the colors were lavender and yellow. Edna Wilkins Elliott suggested the club motto:
The measure of our growth is not what we gain, but what we give.
